Support Math and Science Education in Kentucky
Mathematics and science teachers are in high demand due to a severe national shortage of qualified teachers within these fields, with a growing number of math and science teachers in Kentucky are teaching outside of their certification. In recent years, concerns over the shortage of math and sciences teachers as well as their impact on the current state of math and science education has reached new heights. Reports from national research groups have all directly tied teacher shortages to the quality of math and science education and in turn to the future well-being of the economy and indeed, the survival of our nation (NSTA.org).
At PIMSER, we strive to improve the quality of math and science education for teachers, leaders, and students. Our programs are aligned with state education priorities, planned and delivered in a systemic nature, and customized to fit the needs of Kentucky school districts. PIMSER programs are grounded in current research and designed to take teachers and leaders through the learning as they would do in their own classroom or school. We promote the importance of math and science education at the elementary level to build a solid foundation for student learning as they progress through secondary level courses. One of our goals is to enrich students’ math and science learning experiences to promote the value of STEM teaching as a viable career.
As an independent nonprofit, we rely on individual gifts to sustain our innovation and broaden access to our programs. Will you make an investment to provide Kentucky educators with the math and science education they need today?
